The CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme, initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, aims to provide free solar energy solutions to households throughout Punjab. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting renewable energy and supporting low-income communities. Under this scheme, the government of Punjab will distribute up to 100,000 solar systems at no cost to poor households that consume between 0 and 200 units of electricity.

Eligibility Criteria for Free Solar Panel Scheme
Domestic consumers with a monthly consumption of up to 200 units across the following categories are eligible:
- Up to 50 Units (Life Line)
- 51-100 Units (Life Line)
- 0-100 Units (Protected)
- 0-100 Units (Un-protected)
- 101-200 Units (Protected)
- 101-200 Units (Unprotected)
Domestic consumer eligibility will be determined based on bills from June 2024. Consumers with a sanctioned load of up to 2 KW qualify for eligibility.
Consumer having sanction load up to 2 KW will be eligible.
Exclusions
- Domestic consumers who are involved in electricity theft are not eligible.
- Domestic consumers with defective meters shall not be eligible.
- Domestic consumers having multiple meters at a single residence shall not be eligible.
- Domestic consumers involved in payment default (more than 3 late payments in 12 months).
